The Drawing Room

The (mis)adventures of an artist in Failbetter Games' Fallen London. This is a (mostly) IC, tongue-in-cheek blog for art - specifically the Master Portrait Project!

The Intrepid Artist can be found here.

A regular art blog may be found under kindelwyrm.tumblr.com.

Fallen London is © 2015 and ™ Failbetter Games Limited: www.fallenlondon.com. This is an unofficial fan work.

"I miss you guys! Where have you gone to? Has the ground opened up and swallowed Failbetter Games?"

Periodically, our Tumblr gets locked for no apparent reason, and we have to petition the great Tumblr gods to let us back in. Quick, while we have their favour! How is everyone? What are the latest tumblr things we should know about? It’s been so long!

I’m so happy to see you all back!  I’m still slowly crawling towards the conclusion of this blog’s project, but I’m doing pretty well.  <3

Even the smallest light can cast a large shadow.
[Alternate concept for Mr Eaten’s portrait. Happy 7/7!]

Here’s a teaser! Proof that I’m still doing the Master Portrait Project, even though I’m caught up in other projects and a slowly progressing commission.
Not too many left, now.

Perhaps not the most interesting person in Fallen London; but sometimes ‘interesting’ can be detrimental to one’s sanity.

Glassman’s best friend, my dear Persephone.
Helps with snakes. And cats. And people.
[I’ve wanted to draw Alice’s Slavering Dream-Hound for a while. One of maybe three dogs you can get in Fallen London.]

Unfinished sketch of Storm, using Paul Arendt’s Aeginae drawing as a reference. Probably won’t finish this one, but might revisit. It’s a bit old.

does anyone know if there are any canon descriptions of the masters of the bazaar? i have a Great Need to draw them

Mysteries of the Foreign Office (Fate-Locked)
12 Days of Mr Sacks
Bits of Seeking Mr Eaten’s Name
Silver Tree involving the Emissary
Presbyterate Adventuress’s Story in Sunless Sea
Theological Husbandry (Fate-Locked)
Ambition: Bag a Legend
Void Destinies

My explanation of Lore-support can be found here.

You’ll probably also want to speak to @aethergeologist or look at their post, since they have a quote database.

EDIT: I forgot, if you have Early Access to Sunless Skies, there is also a more detailed description (both cloaked and uncloaked) following Mr Pennies’ story line in Lustrum.  It’s one that actually put my design out-of-date for released Lore.

Even with Mr Iron’s acquiescence, I have the feeling it is no more pleased than a year ago.

[Phew!  Actually decided to slightly redo Mr Iron - I liked this look more than the original one.  I also considered adding scars, but the thought of Mr Veils’ scars being more obvious due to recklessness amused me.]
